Use of the Space

The Meeting Room is typically used for parties and by clubs and societies that meet regularly, e.g. wine-tasting evenings, yoga classes, church groups, etc.

Due to Heslington being a residential area, the committee may not agree to evening parties that might be noisy and finish late

Rental of the Meeting Room is charged at £15 for the first hour, and £8 for each subsequent hour.

A full (8 hour) day costs £55. Discounts are available for consecutive days' rental, please contact us for more information.

Please be aware that the amount of time you wish to book the Meeting Room for must include any set-up time that you may need to prepare the space for your event.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, or have outside caterers provide for your event. Use of the kitchen and appliances is included in the rental rates.

Parking & Amenities

There are two parking spaces to the rear of the Meeting Room, one concreted and the other grass. The pebbled parking space does not belong to the Meeting Room. The Deramore Arms opposite is usually happy for you to use their car park if you ask.

The village is served by a Post Office, deli / sandwich shop, and Two pubs, The Charles XII and The Deramore, both of which serve food. There are two banks ( NatWest, and Barclays) with ATMs.

Heslington is well served by bus routes, with the 66 and the 66 A running regularly during the day and evening to and from the centre of York (approximate journey time is 15 minutes) from the bus stop outside Heslington Hall at the north end of Main Street.
